Smart Droplets, a pioneering EU-funded project that was officially launched in 2022, is ready to take the spotlight! Focused on reducing pesticide and fertilizer use through the integration of advanced precision agriculture technologies, Smart Droplets aims to offer a holistic crop-spraying solution aiming at environmental sustainability and crop care efficiency. We are excited to announce the launch of our seven-episode vodcast series, which will soon be available on the project’s official YouTube channel. The series is tailored for a broad audience, including tech enthusiasts and anyone interested in the latest advancements in agricultural technology. Hosted by our partner reframe.food, each episode will feature a different member from the project’s consortium, allowing the Smart Droplets story to unfold through their unique testimonies.
In this series, esteemed organisations who are working on the project’s innovative technologies will present their roles and share their expert insights. Representatives from top universities, including the renowned Wageningen University and the Agricultural University of Athens (as the project coordinator), will discuss the vision behind Smart Droplets. They will delve into the unique features of each technology, the needs, and the important milestones that have been and still need to be achieved. Throughout our vodcast episodes, the viewers will be introduced to a range of exciting technologies that come together to realize the Smart Droplets’ holistic and sustainable solution. Learn about the Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous tractors, and Digital Twins, among other advanced technologies. Our partner, AGROMA, is presenting the Direct Injection Spraying system, a crop-spraying system with numerous benefits for both farmers and the environment that remains largely unknown in Europe. Our Spanish partner FEMAC, with their deep knowledge of the agritech market, will provide an extensive overview of farmers’ needs concerning digital farming technologies and industry perspectives.
What do farmers think about the technologies being developed in the project? How will these technologies work together, and what tests will be carried out to ensure the successful implementation of the different technologies? What are the tech providers’ thoughts on the project’s challenges? What obstacles had to overcome? Our partners, including EURECAT and Vizlore Laboratories will answer these questions and more, offering a variety of engaging stories and views. The viewers will gain insights into demanding circumstances and important decisions involved in an innovative and ambitious project like Smart Droplets. The Smart Droplets vodcast series will be available by the end of August 2024. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore exciting technologies and groundbreaking advancements in agriculture. Subscribe to our YouTube channel and stay tuned to enjoy the episodes!
