In this technical workshop, Eurecat shares the “hard truths” and engineering solutions developed while retrofitting heavy tractors for the Smart Droplets project. Researcher Pau Reverte details how to bridge the “Reality Gap” between ideal simulations and the chaotic nature of real farms (mud, vibration, and signal loss). The session breaks down the robotic stack into three pillars: Perception (using 3D LiDAR to filter vegetation), Localization (overcoming GPS failure with multi-stage sensor fusion), and Navigation (adapting path planning for heavy machinery kinematics).
