Annotations Strategies and Techniques/Intro to Object Detection

This seminar introduces the principles and tools behind effective image annotation for object detection. It covers best practices for defining classes and regions (bounding boxes, polygons, masks), avoiding data leakage, and ensuring annotation quality through validation protocols and agreement scoring.

Participants then get hands-on experience with CVAT—learning how to create tasks, use smart annotation tools, and export datasets in COCO, YOLO, and Pascal VOC formats. The session also touches on integrating annotations into MLOps pipelines for scalable training workflows.
